Villa Echos

Echos was a nymph known for her melodic voice. Due to the fact that Zeus was visiting her frequently, his wife Hera cursed Echos to lose her melodic voice. From that moment on Echos could only enjoy the last syllables of someone else's words. One day, while wandering in the forest, Echos saw Narcissus and was enchanted by his beauty.

Echos ran to his arms, but he pushed her in disgust. Despite her humiliation, her love for Narcissus did not diminish. Because of her grief, after Narcissus death, she began to fade and lost her beauty. The gods, out of pity, transformed her into a stone. All that is left of Echos to this day is her voice that still repeats the words of people in remote valleys.
