Kefalonia Island
Kefalonia is the largest island in the Ionian Sea and is considered to be the home land of the Homeric Odysseus. Kefalonia, in the following centuries, was conquered by various nations until 1864 when it was annexed to the newly formed Greek State. From the conquerors of the island, their mark in eternity was imprinted by the Venetians because of the castles and fortifications and the British because of De Bosset bridge, which is the most typical example.
The natural beauty of the island will amaze you, as the green landscape in combination with the imposing Mount Ainos are magical attraction for every nature lover. The beaches of the island are countless and some have access by land and other by sea. You can find beaches with sand, pebbles or even clay.
